The Olde Point Property Owners Association is pleased to welcome you to our website.
Olde Point is a wonderfully diverse community that is one of the best kept secrets in coastal North Carolina. Many Olde Point homes are located along the Intracoastal Waterway and Tidal Marshes with deep water access. Olde Point is also a neighborhood of woodlands with hundreds of beautiful hardwood trees, many more than 100 years old. Olde Point also has homes situated around a mature and challenging semi-private golf course that features fresh water ponds and large natural areas. A Yacht Club with boat ramp access to the water is available to residents for a modest yearly fee.
The people who have chosen to live at Olde Point are as diverse as their surroundings. They are from all walks of life. The area has many amenities along with award winning schools which are rated among the best in the state. Professionals living here have discovered that Wilmington is an easy commute. People who have retired from full-time jobs also live here.
As we cleanup from the storm, please be aware that Deer Run Landfill is taking yard debris at no cost for a limited time.
Please take care if you choose to burn lawn debris; there was a fire on Ravenswood Road recently.
There have been flooding issues throughout the neighborhood. This has been due, in part, to some ditches being backed up. Please make an effort to keep the drain pipes and ditches in front of your home clear.
A new petition has been released by the DOT pertaining to speed calming devices and there was resolution offered on the matter of the previous petition here regarding allegations of fraud which have been retracted. It is the board's understanding that the new petition will be circulated but the board of OPPOA will take no stance or action on this petition unless it is brought forward by the membership.
There have been additional reports of break-ins and attempted break-ins on Olde Point Loop and Ravenswood Roads in August. Please lock your vehicles, garages and homes.
A detached garage and vehicle were broken into on Ravenswood Road in March. The police are investigating suspects from Wilmington. Please be sure to lock your vehicles and garages. The neighborhood watch is in contact with the Pender County Sheriff's Department.
